Computer Donation Management, Inc. dba CDM eCycling (CDM) is a Maryland Corporation located in Baltimore City and provides responsible handling of e-waste materials for the Mid Atlantic region. CDM eCycling was incorporated in 1999 and operates a 100,000 square foot electronic recycling center. The company offers an alternative to the disposal of obsolete electronics and potentially hazardous matter. No electronic equipment processed at CDM eCycling enters a landfill. The primary goal is placing back into service as much equipment as feasible through repair and restoring of usable equipment and dismantling of obsolete equipment for parts and further processing to reclaim base materials.

Though a for-profit company, CDM eCycling has actively partnered and worked with non-profit organizations in the Baltimore and surrounding communities and have assisted numerous after school and daycare programs by donating complete systems for their programs. CDM eCycling is involved with programs to help create jobs and opportunities for those with developmental disabilities or other barriers to employment. CDM eCycling can provide complete logistics for our customers and provides additional drop off centers through a permanent drop-off site located in Alexandria, Virginia.

Last year (2009) over 20 million pounds of obsolete and non-working electronics were processed through the facility in an efficient and environmentally correct manner. Approximately 210,000 PC's and related equipment were processed and more than half were refurbished and reused while the rest were dismantled for recycling. Every step of the process is in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations.

CDM eCycling believes it is important for individuals and corporations to appreciate what guides this company's daily operation when faced with a business decision:

  • Maximize the re-use of electronic material by developing innovative programs
  • Protect the privacy and security of electronic data
  • Work with social programs to train and employ those with disabilities and other barriers to employment
  • Perform all services in accordance with local, state and federal regulations
